Kids in Transition Fund

The KIT (Kids in Transition) Fund was created in 2010 with a mission to benefit the support and well-being of homeless students and their families participating in the St. Tammany Parish School System. The KIT Fund has provided stability and well-being to homeless students and their families.

Since, McKinney-Vento (the federal program supporting educational needs of homeless students) cannot provide funds that go beyond basic needs, such as eyeglasses, doctor appointments, rent and electricity deposits, gas cards, etc., the KIT Fund ensures that homeless students and their families receive the essential things they need for their emotional and physical well-being.
