Brilliant Mindz

LIFE PREP PROGRAM - $100

Help high school seniors embark on their journey beyond high school with Brilliant Mindz Life Prep Program! Students will be able to elevate their futures through FAFSA and scholarship workshops, personalized career readiness, and exclusive one-on-one sessions. The Senior Day Extravaganza event of the program takes place in April and will include college insights, voters registration information, motivational speakers, drug and mental health awareness, and beyond. Every student leaves with essential college or career gear – from dorm appliances and laptops to work tools and gift cards. Help support the programs activities and supplies to brighten our future generation.

 

Family Promise of St. Tammany

SHELTER GRADUATION PROJECT - $75

While Family Promise provides emergency shelter for families with children, they pride themselves into moving those families into permanent and sustainable housing. Support their efforts in providing a Welcome Home Kit for families as they transition. This Kit will include cleaning supplies, mop and broom, paper products, toilet bowl brush and a plunger. All critical items in a home are so often times overlooked when preparing families for their move.

 

The Good Samaritan Ministry

SECURE BEGINNINGS - $50

Secure Beginnings provides low-income mothers with a monthly sleeve of diapers and wipes for children up to the age of three and supplemental formula for infants until age 1. Our ministry can also provide certified installed car seats by partnering with Northshore Leadership's KIDS (Kids in Development Slidell) program, nurse oversite for new mothers by partnering with Nurse Family Partnership and counseling and ultrasounds by partnering with Pregnancy Help Center.

 

Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center

CHAIR-SIDE LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE MASSAGE - $100

Many of Mary Bird’s patients spend hours in the infusion suite each week receiving chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments. They’ve begun incorporating gentle, lymphatic massage for both patients and caregivers while they receive their treatments. Philanthropic support of this program allows a licensed massage therapist to provide patients and caregivers with a chair-side, gentle hand massage to encourage lymphatic drainage and relaxation.


NAMI St. Tammany

NAMI’S CLOSET - $75

NAMI's Closet is several rooms set aside filled with clean clothes, shoes and small household items for clients of Northlake Behavioral Health System hospital. While they typically cater to individuals living with mental health issues, NAMI's Closet assists any individual in need. Your donation helps keep the closet open, organized and managed. This is a vital service for those struggling to get back on their feet.

 

Northshore STEM Coalition

BRAIN FOOD TRUCK - $100

The Brain Food Truck is a mobile resource bringing hands-on, minds-on STEM activities to the Northshore region. With a focus on 3rd – 8th grade students in under-resourced and rural communities, Northshore STEM Coalition supports in-school and out-of-school programs by providing them with easy-to- use activities that are student-centered, standards-aligned, and fun.

 

Pontchartrain Conservancy

KEEP NORTHSHORE WATERS CLEAN - $100

Home and business wastewater treatment systems can release untreated wastewater into creeks and rivers. This contaminated water leads to rivers becoming high in bacteria counts and low in dissolved oxygen levels. Through this program, PC hopes to target every Northshore river and decrease the bacteria counts with the ultimate goal of having all rivers removed from EPA’s Impaired Waterbodies List and become usable again by the public.

 

Via Link, Inc.

2-1-1 SERVICE - $100

Support 2-1-1 as it allows people to dial 211 if they are in need of information and referral for health & human services needs such as food, non-emergency medical, transportation, housing, respite care, and more. The Resource Directory is the most up-to-date in the state, as they’re constantly mining for resources to meet community needs.  A trained specialist will answer the phone 24/7.

Children’s Museum of St. Tammany

NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM SPONSOR - $60

This generous gift will provide two children in our community access to a special Night at the Museum evening program. They host a mission driven, Friday evening event throughout the year that brings children to the museum for a night of playful exploration. This is a drop off event for parents, grandparents, or any caregiver to have a few hours to themselves while ensuring that their child is in a safe environment where they will have access to all museum exhibits, special programming, snacks, and movie nights.

 

Girl Scouts Louisiana East

STEM INITIATIVES AT CAMP COVINGTON - $50

As part of the STEM pillar, Girl Scouts Louisiana East has created programming at Camp Covington like the Design a Toy workshop. During this program, Girl Scouts work on STEM and entrepreneurship skills by designing a toy using recycled materials like plastic water bottles, paper towel rolls, etc. and then presenting a sales pitch. They are looking to expand STEM programming at Camp Covington by providing a wide variety of workshops for Girl Scouts of all levels.

 

Habitat for Humanity St. Tammany West

HOME CONSTRUCTION - $79

Volunteers play a significant role in the Habitat for Humanity home construction process, using various construction tools during their work. The construction crew provides training to volunteers on how to use those construction tools safely and efficiently. Throughout the course of a year, their tools undergo significant wear and tear due to the repetitive nature of their usage. One of their portable circular saws is now in need of replacement.

 

Miracle League Northshore

ATHLETE SPONSOR - $20

An athlete sponsor allows one athlete to join the team, receive a jersey, and be presented with a trophy for the Winter Soccer/Kickball season.

 

Northshore Food Bank

SENIOR FOOD BOX - $35

Louisiana has the highest food insecurity rate among seniors in the country, according to a study released by Feeding America. The study states that the food insecurity rate among seniors in Louisiana is 13.4 percent, or one in seven seniors. Louisiana’s rate is almost double the national rate of 7 percent. With high grocery and living expenses, many seniors are left making difficult choices between either paying their bills or getting the food they need. $35 will provide a supplemental nutrition box to a senior on a fixed income.

 

OPTIONS

PERSONAL HYGIENCE SUPPLIES - $55

Caregiving staff assist with daily living tasks, including personal hygiene. They use roughly 30 boxes of adult diapers per month costing an average of $55 per box. These items help OPTIONS caregivers provide the best quality of life for those we serve.

 

United Way SELA

DOLLY PARTON IMAGINATION LIBRARY - $100

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library can help children learn and love to read just by having print books at home. Every child enrolled in the program will receive a free, hand-selected, age-appropriate, high-quality book each month birth to age 5 in St. Tammany, Tangipahoa and Washington parishes. United Way of SELA is the local affiliate of DPIL and covers the cost of the program in these parishes. You can help by making a financial gift to support this program and encourage the love of reading for every child.
